I am always pleased to see a small flood in the crypt of Winchester Cathedral because it means a more interesting shot of Sound II the sculpture by Antony Gormley.
Just as I was ready to exit the crypt by the steep but short flight of stone steps I heard a voice 'Are you coming up' and saw a gentleman volunteer guide with a group of people waiting to come down.
It was considerate of him and appreciated but it did mean that I had to climb the steps as elegantly as possible in full view of the assembled company.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Stunning capture Hazel, lovely perspective, clarity and reflected light, fav, how about adding the tag for this weeks theme-repeat, I thing it would fit it perfectly both with the arches and reflections:)
Comforting to know it's not just me! There is only a hand rail (which finishes just short of the exit!) one side of the steps and with a camera dangling round one's neck it's a bit tricky!
Visited the crypt last year but not a trickle of water to be seen which was unusual according to our guide. Your photo is so much better than mine. Big fav
Thank you. The auto correct raised a smile!
Peter, thanks for your appreciation and the idea but I think I am out of date for this week's theme.

Thank you. I once had a shot of this sculpture in the crypt which made it to TT!
