Pippa by quietpurplehaze

Pippa

I am now a volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust which supports older or terminally ill folk with their pets.

Pippa is a miniature pinscher and I take her for a walk as her owner, a bright 90 year old cannot now manage to do that.

This little dog is a bit frightened of outdoors but we are getting to know each other.

Posted for owo-2: negative space and this is my last post as I cannot manage advertisement or tiltshift but thank you @summerfield for this mini-challenge which I have enjoyed.
Oh how sweet!! What a dear little dog and what a lovely job you are doing walking her for her owner. A beautiful portrait! Fav!

I agree with Pam. Does the trust have many volunteers?

@gijsje

I don’t know how many volunteers but the Trust works nationwide in all England.

She looks like she is looking up at you and saying please!

What a worthwhile activity. Good for dogs, owners and you.

What a lovely activity to take part in Hazel. It is a bit like grandkids isn't it, you can have the fun bits and then hand them back to the owner.

I am sure you and Pippa will become firm friends pretty soon. How many dogs do you walk?

@onewing

Only Pippa so far.

Terminally ill and a pet to be left behind -- you've taken on a difficult job.
April 6th, 2018
@quietpurplehaze I've been on other things computer-wise, so have neglected 365 and FB. Loved the dog photo.

@tunia

Tunia, it’s folk who are either older or terminally ill, not necessarily both and I am just walking Pippa. The trust do seek homes for pets left behind and in fact pay all vet bills etc but volunteers would apply if they wanted to take on such a pet when the occasion arose.

@ivan

Thanks, Ivan. We have to have a cut-off point if there are too many things needing computing time!

Nicely done, the pinscher sharp and the carpet a blurred texture. An interesting negative space.

@trinda

Thank you, have just been learning about negative (and positive!) space.

She is definitely looking up to you I can see the bonding. What a lovely thing to do. She is so cute.
April 7th, 2018
Well that is such a worthwhile cause Hazel, the next best thing to having your own dog.

Another fine portrait Hazel... people, dogs.. add other animals to the list, I'm sure you would be able to capture something of there 'personalities' equally well.... but did you get the dog's permission? :-)
April 10th, 2018
@yrhenwr

I got her 90 year old owner's permission!!!
