We were fortunate to have a tour of the Suffolk Punch Trust, a charity dedicated to the preservation of the Suffolk Punch heavy horses.
The first Suffolk Punch was introduced in 1880 to create the stud.
The Trust also works to protect other endangered species including Large Black Pigs, Suffolk Sheep and Red Poll Cattle.
We also visited the comprehensive museum and the Heritage Garden on site. A lovely and inspiring visit in the heart of the Suffolk countryside - not to mention the great photographic opportunities.

@quietpurplehaze They lived in Suffolk Hazel. He worked them on his farm. They are such a beautiful breed. My husband remembers them well from when he was a small boy. Wasn't sure if he would but his long term memory still works quite well.
I think that must be a good memory from childhood, Joyce. The Trust have a fabulous place with not only the horses and other animals but an extremely comprehensive museum. a heritage garden, tractor rides and a restaurant/café.
That's interesting, Joyce. Where did he live?
