Today my photo has only a tenuous connection with my text - only that Ray loves gardening!!
Feeling so grateful to the NHS:
Ray felt ill Friday morning and, via a phone call to 111 on Saturday and a swift return call from a doctor to us, we attended an early appointment offered at Winchester Hospital.
As a result of the examinations, including an ECG, Ray was taken to the Cardiology Unit at Basingstoke Hospital where he had a pacemaker fitted and returned home yesterday (Tues) evening by taxi courtesy of the hospital.
All this something of a shock but such excellent treatment - and Ray was also impressed with the hospital food!
I was so fortunate that our friends, Ellie and David in Suffolk, not forgetting Hattie the labradoodle, dropped everything and drove down to support us.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Oh my word, what a stressful time for you Hazel. So glad Ray is ok and back home, a new man! You never know what's round the corner. Take care of each other. Lovely photo, by the way!
Oh wow Hazel, what a shock for you all but an excellent result all round! People grumble about the NHS but our family have always had extra prompt treatment & brilliant attention.
So glad to hear Ray is at home & recovering....it certainly makes you thankful for good health. Take it easy & go slowly towards a healthy Spring & more outings together. Your flower too!
Oh my goodness, that was a sudden shock for you all! Glad Ray got such good treatment. My experience of the NHS varies from completely appalling to absolutely amazing. I am glad it was the latter for him. Hope you two get to have a bit of a rest and recharge now. Pretty helleborus.
Beautiful image! My goodness Hazel what a shock for you both! So pleased Ray is home again and on the road to recovery! Look after yourself too! I think the NHS comes up trumps in an emergency!
Pleased to hear you received great care and swift treatment from our wonderful NHS. I hope Ray has a speedy recovery and is ready to play tennis in the summer again thinking of you both. Lovely purple hellebore Hazel and a great capture.
Oh that must have been a shock for the both of you. So glad to hear that Ray is doing well and that the hospital could help him immediately.
Great macro of the hellebore.
Saw this on your fb this morning and commented then . Hope Ray makes a speedy recovery and you both will have some quiet time - also Neil ! Take care ! x
I am a bit behind Hazel so picking up from your gerbera photo I have read about Ray’s escapade. I am so pleased he is now recovering well following some swift treatment. You both must take care and look after yourselves so you are both able to enjoy the spring which is not too far around the corner with all your lovely outings which provide us with such beautiful photos on 365.

Great macro of the hellebore.
What a beautiful photo too
Glad your husband is home again.
Nice to hear of positive NHS experience, they seem to be quite rare!
It all seems to be sorting out now, thanks.
