This duck was dozing by the side of the River Bewl when I disturbed him with my camera. Once awake, he seemed to be offering me his best side to photograph.
In fact when I loaded up the photos of that day to the laptop, this one looked like one to discard. But when I corrected the exposure in FastStone all his colours emerged (not sure why I got it so wrong at the time - any suggestions welcome!) so here he is.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
What a beauty! What white balance setting did you have? I almost always set mine to 'auto' which gives perfect results every time BUT sometime I accidentally knock it to another setting and the image looks awful. The Adobe DNG RAW file that I always use makes for easy correction.
My white balance is always set to auto too! You should have seen this before I did a little post processing. It was way too dark. I don't really understand the problem. (Maybe the white balance setting!!) I always shoot jpeg and nearly always aperture.. I am a technophobe - well nearly.

Phil, thank you. That's interesting.
