Christmas Cactus? by radiogirl

Christmas Cactus?

Why would they call it a Christmas Cactus when it only seems to bloom in the spring or the fall for me?
Great shot!

Lovely soft shot, it is so clear, the leaves almost look like fine tissue paper.
Maybe is flowers somewhere else at Christmas time? lol

Nicely done. Great focus and detail. Mine blooms all year long for some reason. Go figure

What elegant beauty! I have what I'm told is Christmas cactus — it's blooms are a rosy red and it actually blooms around Christmas. But it also blooms other times in the year, not nearly as prolifically as it does in December but impressively enough. Love the pink line on the interior of this blossom.

I love especially the petal that is standing straight up in the middle -- wher eyou can see the light through it. Mine just bloom whenever they feel like it, not even every year. The poinsettas do that too.
