Main Street USA by redy4et

Main Street USA

Every small town has a Main Street.Tonight ours was teaming with thousands who braved the cold (it was 50 degrees) to see the annual holiday parade. There were a couple high school marching bands like this one, lots of girl scouts, babies in decorated strollers, dogs, 2 horses, a couple fire trucks and the color guard from the local navy base. Of course Santa paraded down Main, not in a sleigh, but in a speed boat with some help from the lifeguards! No reindeer in sight.
Sounds like a fun event. Great shot

Great shot! Your processing gives it a vintage, any town USA, feel.

Wonderful shot, beautiful processing, and great sense of humor -- braving the cold at 50 degrees! Comment from Jim to me tonight when I said I thought it was too cold to go up to the roof to take a photo (it's about 25 degrees): "just wear a coat, I'm sure you'll be fine."

@taffy Ha ha! I admit to being a wuss. I was wearing a hat, coat, gloves, a scarf and I was COLD. We Californians don't do much below 60 degrees if we can help it!

This is just how I imagine a town pareade in the States would be like. I don't actually know how cold 50 F is as I think in centigrade, but i always think of California as warm. Lovely shot.

@happysnap 50 degrees F is about 10 Celsius! You're probably laughing! (my comment was supposed to be funny). Here we only have a temperature swing of about 20 degrees--from 70-50 on average. It's basically warm all the time--except tonight it's 46 degrees and that's really cold for us!
