Some of our country's most exceptional Chardonnays are produced in Sonoma County. The area's climate, cooled by fog and wind from the San Francisco Bay, is perfect for growing the Chardonnay grapes. We visited a winery which uses biodynamic farming methods to produce high quality organic wines without pesticides or chemicals. Their high tech equipment can scan the newly picked grapes with special cameras, separating out the bad or substandard fruit before each batch is fermented. Up until last year, that had to be done by hand. Now it's completely automated.
