Today my friend dropped by to show me his brand new (red and cream) motorcycle. The Indian is an American-made motorcycle, first produced in 1901. We went for a ride down the coast so he could test it out with a rider (me) on the back. I got the first ride on this beautiful cycle. The best part was the big, cushy backrest.Felt comfy and secure.
Excellent photo! If I am correct I think the US army used the Indian in WW11 and they've put the throttle on the left instead of the right to give the soldier the oppertunity to handle his riffle with his right hand. They are huge but beautiful bikes and I see them in SA as well lately. I wish I could afford one. Still using my old 1982 BMW RT 100
@bernard Interesting about the use of the bike during WWII. My husband said he lusts after your BMW. He rides a Triumph Bonneville that he modded to look more like a BMW Airhead. Post a photo of your bike sometime we'd love to see it!
