Walked through the park to our favorite cafe for breakfast by the beach. This morning was sunny but it was just the calm before the storm. It started raining about 7 tonight with short cloudbursts. Of course I happened to be on the freeway in heavy traffic during the brief (and much needed ) rainfall. And as soon as I arrived at home,the drops stopped. Unfortunately, this won't impact the drought conditions much. Reducing water use is now mandated in California. Grassy lawns and golf courses are going to suffer. Pretty soon they'll be telling us which days of the week we can take a shower.
Such a beautiful, sunny view, even though it feels autumnal and crisp with those leaves on the ground! Yes, I suspect they will be putting monitors in our homes to make sure we don't waste any water. At some of our shopping centers here they have already replaced the yellowed grass with rocks and xeriscape, and I applaud their efforts!
