St. Michael's Episcopal Church is the oldest surviving religious structure in Charleston. Built in the 1750's, it became a focal point of the colonial resistance to the British. It's tower was the target of British ship gunners during the Revolution, so to decrease it's visibility, the tower was painted black. Since then the church has survived hurricanes, wars, fires, earthquakes and a cyclone with minimal damage. Many famous Americans worshipped here, including George Washington and General Robert E. Lee. The white stuccoed facade was striking against the blue sky as I stood in the street (trying not to get hit by horse carriages) to get this shot.
You did a great job capturing St. Michael and the processing is quite good. This offers a new perspective on a familiar sight in my world. You can see why photographers love Charleston so much. Endless photo possibilities.
