Trailing vines

Just filling in a spot I missed. One design detail I loved in Charleston was that most of the homes in the historic district had window boxes full of colorful flowers and trailing ivy. I've had no success growing
plants or flowers in the little window box outside my kitchen at home. Every year I try something new but so far nothing grows there. They dry up and wilt after a week or two. Could be the climate's just too dry here.
Well,, my hubby says don't do this - it can create mould growth on the building underneath it if it doesn't have good ventilation! However it does look beautiful - Europe is so good with this!

One day I took lots and lots of pictures of the flower boxes that I love so much. I think living in one of those wonderful old homes downtown would be a great responsibility. You would need to always have bright flowers in your window box and your home would always need to be ready for visitors. I don't know how those people do it! The homes are incredible!
