Our first night in Washington, we did a self-styled tour of the monuments by moonlight. We had a driver to take us to all the major memorials located along the Tidal Basin. It was a clear night and hardly anyone was out between 9 pm and midnight so we mostly had the magnificent monuments to ourselves.
