This is the chestnut mare who lives down Wood Lane. She always pricks her ears up when she hears anyone go by as I think she wants to be noticed. I always say hello to her but feel sorry that I can't stroke her lovely velvety muzzle as there are 2 gates between us. She really does need company and I wish the people who own her would get her a little friend. They did have another pony but sadly he died or had to be put down. She is such a lovely horse and with all the rain I'm keeping my eye on things again as I don't want her to land up like she did on Christmas Day!
This is a really wonderful shot, you have caught her perfectly, ears pricked, alert and beautiful. How sad she is all alone, I feel for most animals it is kinder to have a companion.
