Our friendly thrush

This little girl was singing her heart out at 4 o'clock this morning when I couldn't sleep. It was so hot and sticky last night that I didn't sleep well at all. In the end I read my book for a while.

I had a very difficult decision to make at work today as (if Steve is agreeable) I have said that I will look after my client's sheltie dog if he goes into respite for a couple of weeks with his wife as he is really at breaking point. The GP is visiting this afternoon but after discussion with the Social Worker and the home where his wife is, he could go in to have a break. He can't settle being at home without her so it might be the answer. I am meeting someone at the bungalow early on Sunday morning who will rehome his 25 birds from the avery. I am just hoping that Bruno won't cause Steve any problems as he is long haired and Steve is allergic to a lot of things. We shall go over and see him. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. I don't usually get so involved with my clients but if Bruno comes to stay with us, I know that I shall enjoy having him as he's a lovely dog and I really want to help my client to recover.
Your generous heart shows in this post, Rosie and I hope there will not be any allergy problems with Steve if Bruno comes to stay with you for a bit. The thrush is lovely!

I think your hubby should start taking the antihistamin tablets now so he can build up some protection you must be a special person to do that hope Bruno has a good holiday with you and your client gets a good rest ..............Love the thrush great photo as usual

That's a lovely idea to help out. Nigel was allergic to cats so when we got a kitten I bought something called PetalCleanse over the Internet. It's a sort of detergent and you rub it over the animal and it cleans off the dander which is where the allergens are (dried saliva). It was recommended to me and it worked very well - after a couple of uses Nigel was desensitised and is no longer allergic. It might not cure Steve but it might make the dog allergenic for a while.

@quietpurplehaze @princessliz @judithg @jenrobcarr @khirsch @landownunder @caddick @sabanford Thanks for all your kind comments. It looks as though we shan't be having Bruno after all as my client doesn't feel he can part with him even for a couple of weeks. He will probably go in to the home and spend most of the day with her and then come home each evening. He can have his lunch and tea with her which might be a better option. I am furious that the GP didn't visit yesterday despite the fact I have made 3 phone calls to the surgery - there's going to be a formal complaint going in! The birds are now going to be bought by someone else - a friend of a friend as the people that were going to collect them weren't going to give him any money for them. I'm trying to get everything sorted out to the best of my ability to ensure he doesn't get taken for a ride.
