I think it's a kestrel anyway. He was sitting high up in a tree down Wood Lane when I went for my walk this afternoon. I always leave Steve having a sleep after lunch while I get some fresh air and go birding. This little fellow was sitting preening himself and this was the last pic I took of him as I got nearer and he decided to take notice of me. Just after this he flew away!
I saw a couple of red kites cruising on the thermals as well but couldn't get any pics as my bridge camera just doesn't focus quickly enough. However, there is good news on the camera front. I spoke to Amazon today and they have said that they will give me a full refund. At least I can now order another one so that I can really get going again. If I'd had my D7100 I would have got some great pics of the kites.
