There were a few goldfinch about today and in fact there were 6 sitting in this tree but I rather liked this one as they seemed to be friends sitting close together. Of course, they may be male and female and a couple but I'm not very good at sexing birds.
I have had a very long day at work today (well long for me!) as I left home at 8.30 am and got home at about 3.15pm - much too long for someone who is only supposed to work 20 hours a week. Anyway, we had a stand at the Older People's Festival in Central Beds and I landed up taking a load of stuff for a colleague who couldn't make it so I was glad to get home. I still went out for a walk along Wood Lane where I saw these little birds. It was good to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the peace of the countryside. I love talking to people but I also enjoy my own company with my camera.
