Dunnock by rosiekind

Dunnock

We just don't seem many sparrows around here so I was pleased to see this little one. It was in a tree on the way to the cycle track. I had to go for a walk this morning as I was working 12 until 4pm today so I had to keep my eye on the time. I walked along the river past the lock where I hadn't been before. No sign of the bittern but it was nice to hear all the birds singing! I have resisted posting another robin today although I saw and heard loads and did take some pics.
nice shot!

Beautiful shot especially with the buds - but this is a dunnock. A shy bird that I normally see under the bushes and on the ground under the feeding station and only occasionally higher up.

Isn't he a lovely colour, he matches the branches very well.

A lovely shot,but I don't think it's a sparrow,the beak is different.

Is this not a hedge-sparrow or dunnock? Or even a tree-sparrow? It's a wonderful shot whatever it is!

@nicoleterheide Thanks
@mejbronant You are absolutely right! I'm afraid I uploaded this very quickly when I came home from work and didn't really think about what I was doing as I had to get on with jobs around the house! For once 365 came second to getting the jobs done! LOL
