Gala Bingo Hall (former Granada Cinema), Tooting

My other Open House London visit was to the Gala Bingo Hall in Tooting. Originally built in 1931 as a cinema, it has the most incredible gothic interior . It also hosted concerts by Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

I love taking photos of buildings that are empty. It doesn't happen very often. This is lovely. Next year I plan to be more organised with the Open House events and book ahead.

I used to pass this building many times when I worked at Springfield and St Georges Hospitals in Tooting. Beautiful 30s style. It reminds me of a record of many years back 'Fings aint wot they used to be...'
