The Kennedy Memorial at Runnymede

This is a memorial to John F Kennedy in Runnymede. It is set in an acre of land that was gifted to the United States in memory of the late President, and is accessed by climbing a series of stone steps that the architect Geoffrey Jellicoe had designed to resemble a pilgrimage.

The unveiling took place in 1965 with the Kennedy family, The Queen and Prince Philip in attendance. When Prince Philip died, one of the UK newspapers published this photo of the unveiling where he is holding the hand of John F Kennedy Jr:

Lovely shot. Love the narrative and links. It was only yesterday that my wife and I watched The Crown s2e8 "Dear Mrs Kennedy".
