Limonium is in Plumbaginaceae, the plumbago or leadwort family. Despite their common names, species are not related to the lavenders or to rosemary.

What a beautifully intriguing plant! Excellent macro. I'm amazed by the colors- redish stem, purply blue buds and the white flowerets. Seems very patriotic. So funny its name has nothing to do with either lavender or rosemary.
