i miss kaela. this reminds me of her. you would be glad to know that the two last times we had an outdoor meeting at my minister's house, she has a rescue dog named polly. the first time i came she just came barking at me, and that more than anything scares the shit out of me. oh, sally, i tried so hard to ignore her and be nonchalant when i told her to stop and just walked around her, even though i thought i was going to faint! then during the meeting, she just sat down on the ground facing me, and everyone, knowing how i am really afraid of the dog was watching. i motioned for polly to sit on the right side of my chair and she did. and to my own surprise as well as everybody's, i patted her head and told her, good girl! everyone was telling me how good i was. one lady was ready to catch me should i have fainted. the second time we had a meeting, it was the same thing, she barked at me but i was prepared. i got a ball at the dollar store and just threw it in the air. we were friends after that. i'm still nervous around dogs. been reading a lot about rescues. maybe someday i would want one. just maybe!
