EIGHT SEPTEMBER – VICTORY DAY

Today Malta celebrates two major events in its history:
• Victory over the Ottoman forces who tried to conquer the Island in 1565
• Victory in World War II

The picture shows the Maltese National Flag together with pictures of 2 plaques which are stuck on the façade of the President’s palace replicating letters received from King George VI of Britain and Franklyn Roosevelt, President of U.S.A. lauding the Island for its stand against the Axis forces during World War II and a picture of the George Cross which was awarded to Malta.
Feels great to be Maltese!
