hawthorn in flower

There's an old rhyme up here 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be oot'.
In other words don't put your vest away until May is out.
I learned a few years ago that it actually refers to the Mayflower (another name for Hawthorn blossom) rather than the month of May being over!
Well today their is lots of May blossom and still 10 days to go till the end of the month but I still need a few layers and a scarf !!!
I'm amazed at what I have passed by over so many years.
This project is opening my eyes to so many beautiful details around me.

Really beautiful - our hawthorn isn't out yet. Cold here too - and fresh snow on the tops!

Lovely! I know exactly what you mean. All the gorgeous flowers in our garden that I never really noticed, not in detail. I appreciate the beauty around me so much more due to photography.
