Shelter from the storm

I was amazed at this little Gertrude Jekyll rosebud surviving in the flowerbed under the lounge window in spite of the severe storm we had this weekend.
Lots of significant damage, trees down, chimney pots and roof tiles flying, and powerless homes. Thankfully we 'only' had 24 hours before the lights came on again. No end in sight for some areas.
Three good things
1. Calm morning....walk to papershop which was operating in darkness, all the newspapers were in and also some bakery items!!
2. A bit of damage to our patio fence and one side of our little bridge, but repairable.
3. An afternoon working with a friend on candle and festive greens for church.
Oh my, glad you’re okay. This is a sweet little rose.

Sounds like it was pretty nasty. I am glad you guys didn't suffer any more damage than you did
