Garden gate gathering by sarah19

Garden gate gathering

leaves leaves leaves.....
This photo is a couple of weeks old but I felt it was the right one for today. The gate and little bridge lead from our garden to the manse drive......but the minister and her family who live in the manse are moving today to a new house not very far away.
We'll miss the comings and goings as there has been someone living in the house since we moved in to ours.......and no one will be moving into the house as the plan is for it to be demolished when new houses are built on the area round about.
It will be a bit odd not having neighbours there any more!
Three good things
1. Clear frosty morning walk to school
2. An interesting visit to another school this afternoon.
3. Gentle evenings!

Sad that a lovely house like this has to be demolished.

Oh how sad to be demolishing the manse. Will they be providing a new manse?

Is this your house or the manse Sallie? It seems a very great shame to demolish a sturdy house like this one. I suppose they make more money by building a few houses on the site. Hope it doesn't affect you too much.

Thank you for your comments. The house in this picture is our lovely neighbours on the other side and their house is great! But the manse is on the other side of the gate and is a poorly constructed and very cold house with an extensive perimeter and bizarre layout! Really difficult to heat and built in early 80s. The 'new' manse is just along the other side of the glebe where I sometimes have shared photos of sheep! It's a much better structure and was built around 1990 .......and new boiler and decorating done so they will appreciate that! It was very nice that Alison said how much they would miss us as neighbours too and all the trees that are in our garden that made her house feel like it was in the country!
