My middle girl had a half day of school followed by a 50's themed American Girl party today. We realized as she was leaving for the bus that the doll only really had the outfit she came in, plus some pjs & a t-shirt/pants outfit I had made...so instead of cleaning house I sewed up a circle skirt while she was at school. Because, sewing is far more fun than cleaning.
Actually, just about anything is more fun than cleaning.
(Be glad this is in black & white. The only appropriate fabric I had for the circle skirt was light pink with darker pink and brown dots. I had no great fabric options or time to make another top, so she's wearing a dark turquoise t-shirt. The shoes are a lighter turquoise, and her hair ribbon is pink - that kind of ties it all together...right?)
Definitely the pink ribbon ties it all together! These American Girl dolls seem to be very popular! And they even have special parties! :-) Great shot!
