STAYING CLOSE FROM AFAR WITH TECHNOLOGY
Distance is no longer the curse for families to connect. Long gone are the days of handwritten letters with days, if not weeks of waiting involved to hear from your loved ones. My daughter posted a birthday card in London in July. Ha ha I haven’t received it yet.
Technology has allowed us to connect with more people than was possible a couple of decades ago. Bringing together those who would have never crossed paths otherwise. That’s why I enjoy the friends of project 365. We know more of each other by way of selfies, WhatsApp photos etc. Not being able to move a lot at this stage, I enjoy and travel by way of other peoples photos and messages. Although not together this Christmas we can be "near"
How very true this is. I still love writing and receiving hand written letters and cards, they are so personal, but I do agree. Technology is an amazing thing and brings the world to you when you can't get out to the world. After my spinal surgery, being able to chat with friends and family around the globe online was very precious indeed.
Such true words Sylvia, where would we be without it. I have adaughter living in London who is still single. I worry so much about her and feel good that we are in regular contact via whatsapp.
Technology is my saviour too! With two sons & families living 12,000 miles away in NZ I live for the many ways we can keep in contact. I too remember the booking if the telephone call on Christmas Day....now we can ring free anytime on What’s App or messenger, I can be chatting to anyone all around the world many a time in the middle of the night. Other night owls are such a comfort!
I hope you & yours have a wonderful Christmas Sylvia despite the miles in between. X
@dustyloup Hope you will be with friends if not with family. I do have 5 children... 2 in heaven, 2 in London and 1 in SA. My husband passed away in 2016. At least we do have 365 friends we can reach on that day. No need to be lonely!
Not only the technology has changed also the ability to move and work anywhere in this world. Thanks to the internet we can all stay in contact and enjoy each other’s company.
I also do very much appreciate the positive benefits of technology and connecting with the members of this photographic community holds a special place in my heart. Your composition is spot-on just perfect. Fav!
I hope you & yours have a wonderful Christmas Sylvia despite the miles in between. X
