I'm behind a day for 365 project, and I'm behind in trying to get my camera club shot which for this month is Little Details, so here is my first attempt at creating something. This is not my main idea which was actually a needle and thread in a cotton reel - until I discovered my photo buddy Karen had unbelievably set up almost exactly what I had been planning! So now I need to think of other ideas instead as I would hate to submit my variation of the same thing (especially if it is not as good!)
@cottiac Thanks Cottia. Yes it is my late father-in-law's Bible. When he died about a decade ago, no-one else in the family seemed to want it, so I took it and have kept it hidden away in amongst my personal stuff where nobody will fiddle with it - and where nobody else even knows I have it. Some of the pages are so fragile and well worn that I won't read this particular bible myself - except that one day I would like to find out why certain pages are worn through. What is on those pages that is so special that they were read more than the rest?
Oh my what a treasure! Maybe there is a special way to store it that would prevent for further deterioration. You could ask Peggy next time you see her post anything. She might know.
@sarasotab Thanks Robert. Yes the paper is fibrous - which is why I thought it might be a better close up than a newer book in order to get some texture @beckyk365 Thanks Becky. I didn't know Peggy would know about stuff like that. All I know is that when I was handling it, I couldn't help thinking that on tv they handle old books with gloves, so perhaps I should too ... @narayani Thanks Narayani. Yes I also thought of the Great Minds line. I couldn't believe it when I saw her photo. We don't tell each other what we are doing but asked if I minded if she sent it to me before club to get my opinion. So glad she did
