Blue Cranes by seacreature

Blue Cranes

Had to take my mother to Vredenburg Hospital this morning for a checkup and saw this breeding pair of blue cranes with their chick in a field along the road. Unfortunately my Tamron 18-270mm everyday lens that travels around with me just wasn't up to the job as they were quite far away. Maybe tomorrow I can make a special trip back there with a 400mm lens (and maybe also try and find my challenge shot of lines in nature)
The colours of the background and the blue of the Cranes works well, that little chick is awesome - I nearly missed it!

@365anne Thanks Anne. I think it shows how dry it is here ... We normally have very dry summers. That is why this area is good for drying big ponds of seawater to extract salt as per my photo a couple of days ago, but this year is particularly dry.
