Was at the apartment again today cleaning in preparation for visitors again this weekend and realised I hadn't managed to get my get-pushed photo yet this week. So I attempted a zoom blur shot on this granadilla plant growing prolifically in the refuse area. It really needed for me to have my camera on a tripod to do the zoom blur but I didn't have it with. So todays photos are all off to the recycle bin now!
@narayani Yes this is a passionfruit flower - in SA we call them granadillas. And yes there are loads of huge fruit on the vines - but all green still. Hopefully I can get to some of the ripe fruit before it is all taken by others
@narayani It is not actually an empty lot. It is growing over a high wall from the next door property so I don't know if anybody looks after it or not. I suspect not. On our side of our wall is a walled area with a dozen or so large black garbage bins for residents of the apartments to bring their garbage each day until it is collected weekly by the municipal refuse removal trucks. So I just had to move a few garbage bins around to get close enough to the wall where the plant cascades over. There are dozens of luscious looking fruit. I have now bought myself a plant and am about to dig a large hole next to our own wall at our house to plant one. I read it is better to let them have a dry spell rather than over water them.
