Oldish photo, new edit. I tried this selfie ages ago, and hated it, so not sure why I never deleted it. But tonight, something made me go back some portraits and play around with extreme edits ... what a lot I have been learning. Suddenly by increasing brightness or contrast way beyond what I would normally do, I am starting to be able to identify some subtleties in lighting. It is really quite an eye opening experience and I feel like I'm on an exciting path of discovery
@narayani Not sure if it is a good or bad thing that you didn't recognise me. LOL. It is all Annie-Sue's fault after she mentioned her eerie empty parking lot was Film Noir. Got me thinking about "B&W and contrasty", so decided it was time to start playing ....
@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. I don't feel like the image above is femme fatale - it was an idea for a pose that simply didn't work .... I am normally a smiley person (I think), and I tried to adopt a serious pose but the pose didn't feel right. I am quite glad I didn't clean up my folders and delete that because it was interesting to work on it - my profile selfie will need a lot more experimentation to get a good BW - film noir type of look as I discovered the light is actually quite different (by accident not by design)
@777margo Thanks for that Margo. I think both photos were taken around the same time about 2 years ago now .... so yes there will most likely be a few more laughter lines by now!
I didn't recognize it as you and had to do a comparison after I saw the word selfie. It's quite good and I like it very much. When you write your book, you could use it as the author's photo. I have faved it.
@pamdavis2015 Thanks very much, Pam @meotzi Thank you so much for the fave and the comment. Now there's a challenge - to write my own book. Does everybody dream about writing a book someday? I certainly have - but I don't yet know what it will be about!
And ditto what @anniesue said.
But I think you look gorgeous in your profile pic 😊
