Back at the fishing harbour today after a tooth extraction. Dentist is half way to the harbour so it was a good excuse. But more than that, the activity there, just talking to other people, all still random strangers I might never see again ... still helps to fill a void in my life. The young fishermen repairing the nets today told me they are all on standby to go out tomorrow but he doesn't know what time, so I will pop along there tomorrow and hope to strike it lucky seeing the boats go out.
The 'nets' seem huge on the ground, yet in the sea they shift and sliver with the wind and the boats. Fascinating. VM understand how challenging your life has become. Please don't be hard on yourself. Losing your partner is inevitable for one or the other. Take a day at a time, think about small treats to motivate yourself, special chocolate or the like...a sun hat, jolly scarf, a plant or flowers etc. You're doing well. I give myself a good talking to...in the mirror if/when I want to back out of something and remind myself that I'm more fortunate than many...and should remember that...every day. Not always easy as it sounds. Go gently with yourself...
Yes I thought the nets were in the water too! I agree with all the thoughts above, especially with those who have walked in your shoes. Be gentle with yourself.
