Filleting Bokkoms by seacreature

Filleting Bokkoms

These ladies were part of a team sitting and filleting bokkoms - the local word for the fish (mullet) which has been salted and dried. I don't much like this fish myself - I find it very strong flavoured kind of like anchovy is too strong to just eat it as it is, but it is a delicacy and a staple food amongst many of the born and bred West Coast folk

Lovely characterful street shot of daily life. Nice and colourful too.

Fabulous shot of this typical scene, the smell must be something else though ;-)

@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Surprisingly I didn't actually smell anything. Perhaps it was due to the sturdy, homemade mask I was wearing (3 layers - outer flanellette, middle layer Vilene, and inner layer thick old fashioned calico).
