The remains of this massive old chain in a concrete block about a meter cubed always fascinates me but I haven't yet managed to take a photo of it that I'm actually happy with. This wasn't supposed to be my photo for today - I planned on going out for what was promising to be a good sunset as there were clouds in the sky. But my fish tank suddenly developed a leak which rapidly became a waterfall.Thank goodness I was home while it happened so I could rescue the fish immediately into a clean bucket with some of their own water before it was all on the floor. Then had to start the big clean up instead of going out for sunset!
@narayani I have a glass tank with 4 goldfish that I "inherited" from my bad tenant in Cape Town. When he left in a hurry under threat of the sherriff arriving to attach his property for unpaid rental, he clearly didn't have time to empty his aquarium and take it away with everything else. He kept phoning wanting his aquarium - he wanted me to put it outside for him to collect, but the man didn't even return my keys and remotes so I had to call a locksmith to open up and change all the locks, and buy new remotes and tags at quite a large expense so I declined to allow him to have his fish tank back - and especially not if he thought I was able to lift a tank holding about 50 litres of water plus a bucket full of stones at the bottom that I can only just carry. I certainly didn't intend to have an extra responsibility of more living creatures to look after, but I couldn't let the fish die, so I emptied the tank and brought everything home where I cleaned it up (it was totally green) and I have found I rather enjoy watching the fish. I bought a light for the tank, and food for the fish, and used google to find out about looking after fish. I named them Sushi, Sashimi, Nori and Nemo.
@seacreature great names! I enjoy watching fish - we’ve had quite a range over the years.
He sounds the tenant from hell 😕 Hope you get a good one next time 🤞🏼
@narayani Thanks Narayani. He was a tenant from hell. Caused so much damage I couldn't avoid the complete renovation. Broken floor tiles in the kitchen. Wall tiles ripped off in the bathroom. Cracked toilet and bath ...even broke the garage door motor and hinge so the door was just about to fall off. Turned out he was a drug lord growing dagga on his farm just outside Cape Town and bringing bales of wet dagga here to dry using electricity at my cost... probably why they couldn't drive their car into the garage without driving into the hinge?
