Bit rushed today. After dental appointment had to pick up my friend and go to Saldanha some 40km away to look at a vintage sewing machine. Was a bit angry because the seller had said it was in working condition, but after driving all that way found it wasn't but I guess that is a chance one takes when trying to find 2nd hand stuff
@phil_sandford No actually it wasn't cold at all. It is mid summer here now and the hot land mass next to the cold Atlantic Ocean is the reason we have coastal fog. We don't have much rainfall, and therefore not much in the way of indigenous trees growing in this part of South Africa. The indigenous plants mostly rely on getting their water from the fog or mist which burns off later in the day
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Yes a great pity about the machine. I am keeping my eyes peeled on FB marketplace though - something decent will come up sometime for me. I am so into sewing my own clothes again now, and would love something a bit stronger than my little baby elna
