Low Tide by seacreature

Low Tide

Back to normal for a day or two, although I did wake up late and walk the dogs later than I have been. In my defence, it is getting dark in the mornings now, and not as hot as it has been through summer. Autumn arrived suddenly at the beginning of this month
Lovely image with good reflections with obvious interest in the birds. My only comment is that the left hand side of the image doesn’t add anything to the picture and it might be better to crop that area off making the image square. If on the other hand you have some more information on the right hand side of the image (on the original RAW file) you could include again. But of course it is your choice! I hope you don’t mind me critiquing your image?

@marshwader Thank you so much for your feedback. I love reading an honest critique - really helps me see things differently and think a bit differently, so it is incredibly helpful. And I never take offence because I know there is no malice intended at any time. Thank you. I do have the original raw file, but I didn't have any more space on the right in my composition as I had been attracted to the repetition of the supporting poles and their reflections in the water - and that is what I was trying to capture

while the left doesn't add anything, it does create a leading line bringing the eye across to the birds. the reflections are lovely!

@koalagardens Thanks so much. I actually did try a square crop as suggested, and found I preferred this crop

I like the empty space drawing me into the action of the birds. Lovely colours and reflections too.
