Decay 04 ~ Is that radiator turned on? by seanoneill

Decay 04 ~ Is that radiator turned on?

The skies were clear again today and it was my day to pick the kids up from school.

The old office and factory that I have shot 3 times already beckoned me, as it is just around the corner from the school.

I was surprised to see this radiator, still attached to the wall at first floor level, with the plumbing still attached!! The shot is a bit cluttered but I guess that is the very nature of decay, it is random, out of control, not picture book pretty

There are still a few ideas that I have for shots down there.

Today was the first time that I have ever been approached by someone to ask what I was doing! I explained and he smiled at me like I was some sort of crackpot and then drove off. I think that we know best though, us 365ers...
Interesting image - I like it ! Suits B&W well

I don't think this shot is cluttered at all. Great perspective and composition. Really like the black and white.

I really like the perspective and feeling of looking up.

Nice POV.... I'm always worried about that hope when it happens to me they also smile....

I dread someone asking me what I was doing, if it happened to me I'd be scared off for weeks I think! It will make an interesting series of pictures, I bet this isn't the last!

GREAT location. Can't wait to see what other treasures you uncover.

How bizarre! Nice capture of that!

Rusty barbed wire, bleak skies and black and white *sings* these are a few of my favourite things

I like the angle on this. Love the old!!! Funny about the person that thought you were strange. LOL!

@elsbels @tamsg4 @danacarruthers @esolvideosuk @lesip @louisefrance @lesphoto @clarissajohal @lagerdalek @debsphotos Thank you all for the great comments. I appreciate that thee aren't as commercial as some of my work at the weekend, but I enjoy doing them, and the feedback that I get. For those of you new to my Decay shots, there are a few in the back catalogue!!

I just adore buildings like this...have just found a disused warehouse and power station and plan to go there for some more shots!...love the fact there is so much to look at...you have got this spot on in my book :D
March 5th, 2012
@susieb cheers Susie, I look forward to your shots. Quirky angles, break the rules, look for decay, odd things and interesting povs, you're bound to find a winner or two!!

Looks like a prison. Nice in black and white. Makes it look extra dreary.
March 6th, 2012
@worthyglo Thanks Gloria, I hadn't thought of that, but you are right!

Great tilt on the camera. The lines really add to it!

I like this. It's kind of bleak and strange, but a very interesting kind of bleak and strange. Love the lines the barbed wire made. Great B&W tones.

I love the look of the barbed wire and think that it is hilarious that you were confronted for taking the photo. Really interesting shot! I like it!

looks so desolate in b&w. The barbed wire looks sharp

I like the b&w Sean.....It adds to the gritty abandoned feel of it!....

Look at all that texture... the odd angles, barbed wire, and deep sky add a perfect eerie atmosphere. Love it. Great series! :)
March 6th, 2012
I agree - 365'ers definitely know best :) Wonderful shot and pov. Love the barbed wire!
March 6th, 2012
Tiling can be really effective.
Haha, speaking of unusual behaviour - a friend and I saw someone over the weekend taking several images of a Wet Floor sign (with two different cameras!) in a sunny spot on a black tile floor. We looked at each other and both said 'I bet he's a 365-er! My hubby is resigned to it now.
