Montana Rubens

Another botanical style shot, but I wanted to try something different today.Looks nice if viewed large.

The shot was taken in the afternoon sun to create a shadow of the stamens on the petals before tweaking the background levels to make it appear to be floating.

@fannyb No, just shot against a dark grass background in the garden to get the natural light, and then darkened in levels.

Sean - love your comp, light and focus. Dark background is very effective, but I personally need a stem or something to anchor this shot a little. Just an opinion - great work overall.
