Now the holidays are over, the cricket season is over, and the autumn begins to encroach, it is important to have something to look forward to.
I have a love of fine red wine, and this is a small selection of the fine clarets in my collection.
Come back in 6 months and those that are ready to be drunk will be gone, and been relaced with later vintages.
A shot of bottles of 98 Baron de Pichon Longueville, 03 Ormes de Pez and 98 Lynch Bages. The latter is the wine that has been to the moon!
Cold autumn evenings with lovely rich beef dinners and exquiste claret, womething to look forward to. I can't wait for the National Hunt racing season to start as well, so I can see my old friend Big Bucks continue his march to racing immortality....
you and my husband - he loves his red wine. Personally I can't see the attraction - white wine all the way for me! So no arguments in our house as to who's drunk all the wine!!
I must say I prefer red in the winter but unfortunately can't seem to drink wine like I used to, one glass at a time is enough for me now. The good side is a bottle lats ages! You seem to know your stuff!
I was feeling a little sad that summer is nearly over, but your description of warming winter meals, a glass of sumptious scrummy red and curling up on the settee..... perhaps it aint so bad after all! Nice photo, could be in a wine catalogue, like the angle and pov!
@fannyb@lauralatham@shirljess@happypat@soboy5@jackie8 Thank you all. Laura, yes it is largely the same in our house, though I do have the occasional glass of white. I know a litle bit about a lot Pat, but expert at nothing!! Can't beat a good Pinot Noir Danny. Can't beat it Shirley! Dead right Jackie, winter was made for red wine and cosy evenings in!!
I am a lover of the reds as well, although I'm afraid that I never know much about them. It's just easier to taste and try ;-> Very lovely shot. . .wish I could join in.
