St Mary's Church, East Leake. by seanoneill

St Mary's Church, East Leake.

The moon rising over St Mary's Church in my home village of East Leake.

Now I have to be honest here, these are two shots taken this evening and merged together, something I have wanted to do for a while.

Shot at f10, exposure 20 seconds.

You did a great job here. I love the angle you got on the church and the black and white and darkness is great!

Well I love it and you get a Fav from me.
I tried my first moon shot this weekend and don't think I have the lens for it. I have a shot but it sure doesn't look like this. Good job.

@roachling @cdonohoue Thank you both. I am just going to put up the moonless shot in my other album. Cathy, Thannks ever so for the fav. I think you need a few things for a great moon shot. At least a 300mm zoom, though I have a 500mm zoom. Then have the confidence to shoot at about f11 and 1/250 of a second. It works for me!

Excellent. Just needs a wolf howling. Great contrast between light and dark

@fueast Thanks Alison, it is opposite The Three Horseshoes pub, there will be plenty of that at kicking out time!

HDR? I need to try this out, got the software but not had the chance to play with it yet! This is an awesome shot Sean, very atmospheric. Love the pov you have used to make the gravestones look almost half the size of the Church...

Fantastic composition! The moon was just beautiful last night. I always like the thought that we're all looking at the same big moon because even though we're all oceans apart, it kind of connects us.

Stunning shot, Sean. I love the perspective and angle. They add a wonderfully dramatic element, along with the full moon. 8)

So clever, and the lighting all appears right too. Great shot!

Spooky Sean! You have got the church and some of the headstones pointing at the moon! I love the light on the building but I think you either need to tone it down or brighten the moon to make the whole more convincing. I am also wondering where the light on the right end of the church is coming from. It certainly has impact though!
