Sam returned from the trip of a lifetime to China this evening.
He has had such an amazing time, summed up when I asked him if he would like to go back, he replied "In a heartbeat."
We had a lovely family meal, where Sam gave out presents including these lovely chopsticks in pouches to Rebecca and me.
I am so thrilled that he has made new friends, seen a different culture up close and seen some of the most amazing sights that our planet has to offer, all at the age of 15.
It is to the eternal credit of his wonderful school that makes these experiences possible, and to Sam for having the desire to take the opportunity.
He finally flaked out at what is half past 5 in the morning to him. I look forward to seeing his pictures in the days ahead and hearing more tales of climbing parts of The Great Wall, and eating scorpion, snake and various larvae!!! His favourites though, were crispy duck and sweet and sour pork!
I am overjoyed that he had a life changing time, and most of all that he is back safe and sound.
Changing subject, I hope that all my friends in the USA on 365 and off stay safe through the storm over the next 24 hours. My thoughts are with you.
Beautiful photo. I spent a few days in China years ago and would also go back in a heartbeat. I didn't spend near as much time there as I'd have liked but we had no little time.
Fave Sean for the colour & textures of these chop stick pouches. A very apt & useful present to remember this great adventure!
I note you thank all for making the trip possible but don't forget you as parents have to cough up money for these adventures which I am sure Sam realises, sensible boy that he is! Much more stories to come still I expect!
this is so pretty, Sean. . .but the most wonderful part of this shot to me is the incredible commentary of such a loving and generous father. What a lucky boy!
Beautiful colours and composition, I'm so glad Sam is back safe and sound and is full of his adventures! It is an experience he will never forget and am sure will be enriched by. You can relax now Sean!
Jackie is right you can relax now!! Lots of catching up today no doubt and lots of stories, how lovely for him and you all..........Lovely colours in these pouches, amazing something so exotic is used to hold chopsticks
An amazing shot of beautiful colour. What a relief to have him back safe and sound and I can read such joy in your words at the wonderful opportunity this has been for him and the happiness his trip has given all of you.
Wow - what an amazing trip & school ! Lucky Sam! I encourage my kids to go on all the school trips, but so far they are all Eu. And what a beautiful souvenir.
Terrific capture of lovely momentos....so glad he is back, had a great time.....you are going to so enjoy hearing the stories, nothing in the world like an interested parent to hear all about everything, I know he's ging to enjoy the telling and that you will love to hear it.
How Wonderful Your Sons Trip and Your Shot are both Terrific! I can only imagine what it would be like to go to China and do all that he has done at the age of 15! You are so right " A Life Changing Experience"! How Blessed is He! And you and your wife must be so Proud! Love, Love , Love this!
We are all safe here in TX but the east coast has suffered so much damage it looks like a war zone.I Pray for peace for the people who have lost thier homes and or family members..the homes can be replaced, but never can you replace the ones you love...
