Another shot from my day in the Peak District on wednesday. I was taken with the simplicity of this view, just off the main A515 crossroads on the Longnor to Monyash road looking north east.
Processed in Silver Efex Pro using the Film Noir preset.
I think that the way forward for me is to have an intensive day or two with my camera and get enough shots for a week or so. I am incredibly busy in my businesses, and they pay the bills!!
I am hoping to get out walking with my camera again tomorrow.
Best viewed large.
Finally! Thanks for the response to my other shots of The Peak District in recent days, one made the PP, much to my astonishment and pleasure.
I do think it's a pity when you go to a fabulous location & you feel you should't perhaps use all your shots so I am all for your method of posting specially when you have a job to do & personally I very rarely look at the dates. Love your tree line here Sean. Glad you are busy at work...that's what you want!!
Somehow you have given this a feeling of vast open spaces, even while restricting the space by enclosing the trees in darkness. I don't understand how that works, but is does. Amazing.
This is a striking shot Sean. Looks like you have found a way to make your project fulfill you, yet fit within the constraints of life. This shows brilliant balance. Nicely done
@ruthmouch Go for it. The thing about so many of your photos is that they are fabulous in B+W. Silver Efex is so simple because there are so many presets and filters that you click to preview. I am only scratching the surface as I teach myself, but I think it would enhance what is an incredibly powerful style that you have Ruth. trust me, I am not technically minded at all, I use instinct!!
@ruthmouch Good question. Th emain reason they are centred is that the background to th eeft and right are very distracting. I was there again yesterday and looked again. However, later this week I will put up a shot of a similar copse that is not centred, and that is different, but the panorama around it is rugged and beautiful.
I recognised those trees as the ones by the A515 before I read your words... it's a route we travel frequently. My grandparents lived in Lonngor for much of my childhood, I love the road from there, up Crowdecote bank!
A great shot, I like the processing with that lighter area around the trees.
Shame how work keeps getting in the way of our 365ing...!
A great shot, I like the processing with that lighter area around the trees.
