East Side Gallery ~ Trabant by seanoneill

East Side Gallery ~ Trabant

An icon of East Germany pre the fall of the Berlin Wall was the Trabant car.

Here it is immortalised on the wall of the East Side Gallery.

Colour version in 2nd album.

Busy day today, just about to leave for Southampton to watch England v Australia in the last ODI and then driving back afterwards so a very late night/early morning!
Like the grunginess of this version, but think I prefer the colour one. Have fun at the cricket. My husband had a proper sulk the other day because none of us wanted to drive up to Durham and back in a day to watch the match there.

An iconic vehicle, but wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Good luck in the cricket, but I'm hoping for an Aussie win :)

What a great shot. Hope the game went the way you wanted it to.

I hope the weather isn't a killer for the match....they wouldn't be playing cricket up here today!!!
I think I like the b/w version of this Trabant, it suits the grunginess better than the smarter colour version.

I once had a NSU car in the 70s - fore-runner to the Trabant I think? This is great image!

Ah, the good old Trabbie - filthy car! (environmentally) Striking image, Sean.

Cool shot and processing!

The Trabi! Seeing the old Trabis being used for tourism today was fun, but hearing the old stories of the role Trabis played in people's lives was both fascinating but also sobering to consider.
