Cricket Photo of the Year

Whilst at Lord's for the county one day final we took the opportunity to have a wander around the ground.

I found inspiration looking at a large display of the winners on the Wisden/MCC Cricket Photo of the Year award.

Here is a shot of an MCC member walking past the winning photo, seemingly oblivious to it.

I think I might enter this competition next year, I have a few good cricket shots (among thousands!!)

We had a great day out with 24 friends from our cricket club, of the 4th year running I have arranged the trip and kids and adults alike have such a great day. It was fantastic to see Nottinghamshire, our local county, win the cup. A few action shots to follow.

Best viewed large to see the amazing winning photo!!

I can see why it won, super shot and I like the contrast between the athleticism of the cricketer and the shuffling steps of the older gentleman.

One could imagine this chap turning out to be 'Blowers' or in the past 'John Arlott'. Super street photography.

Great eye! Adding the pedestrian to the scene makes all the difference.

I agree with @paulaw about the contrast between the two figures. Nice timing and capture.
Well done Mr. Au-yeung too, that image is quite something!
And congratulations to Notts.

Great winning shot and you have balanced the composition very well in your image.

Wow -- that's an incredible photo for the competition and I like the way you set a context to show it off. But something is sad that this guy is walking by something so amazing and is oblivious to it.
