Today was an amazing day for me. I went to Runcorn to the new Michael Kenna retrospective exhibition.
Runcorn is across the River Mersey from his birthplace of Widnes.
Michael Kenna arrived fashionably late having flown in from Paris, and gave a 90 minute talk on his career, inspirations, story behind photos the whole nine yards. Then he held a Q and A session and did a book signing, so I had the chance to have a 5 minute chat with him about Ratcliffe Power Station and of course 365. They also opened the exhibition a day early so I got to see the 80 or so photos as well. The talk he gave was absorbing, and he is such a personable chap.
While in Runcorn I took a few shots of the Runcorn-Widnes bridge and Fiddlers Ferry Power Station.
I highly recommend the exhibition which is on at The Brindley until November 23rd.
