Keeping the lights on by seanoneill

Keeping the lights on

Happy Christmas everyone, I hope you have had, are having, will have a great day depending on where you are in the world.

A quick shot from earlier this morning of Ratcliffe Power Station, one of my favourite photography subjects.

While we are tucking into our Christmas lunch I will spare a thought for the people working here today to keep the lights on for us all. So many people work on Christmas Day, to keep us warm, healthy and safe. Their efforts deserve acknowledgement and thanks.

Love this Sean! Gorgeous as always. Big fav and have a very Merry Christmas x

You are so right Sean....can't help thinking too of all the people working today that should have been at home but are trying to get the UK on track again after this bad weather.......airport staff, electricians etc.
We used to work 365 days a year but were brought up doing it ...a way of life & we never bothered about it plus of coarse we were at home so not like going out to work ! Enjoy your day.

The steam is really imposing. You're right; there are people in hospitals, law enforcement, and many more, who don't get the day off. Thanks to all of them.

Nice composition for this power station image, Sean, and super processing too. We were with Noel (Tina's dad) this afternoon. The staff at the care home are on duty today, giving essential care and kindness to many residents.

@ivan Thanks Ivan, they are worth their weight in gold. I hope that Noel is continuing to improve. A very happy Christmas to you and Tina.

Love that you got the trees so clearly into the shot. Nature and industry and b&w. Doesn't get any better than this! Have a great day with family -- or I hope you've enjoyed your day!

Merry Christmas, Sean. Hope you've all had a wonderful day.

a wonderfully noir photo... and such an important reminder (especially here in Toronto, where there are still several thousand households without power since the ice storm on the weekend, and 100s of hydro workers who were called in from their vacations to help with the repair work)...

Merry Christmas to you!
