Loughborough Backstreets ~ 1 by seanoneill

Loughborough Backstreets ~ 1

Continuing attempts at a shot a day, trying to concentrate on composition, form texture etc.

This is a shot of the aircon units in the back of Peacocks store on Packe Street.

A bitty day, have spent an hour or so sorting in the garage, before taking Sam to the station so he can go and see Tigers with a friend. Ben and I aren't going as the "friend" is a "girl" friend. I stress, a girl who is a friend, not a girlfriend. So we have to stay at home and watch on TV!!

Then a trip to the tip to get rid of stacks of cardboard. Now I need a cuppa, and feet up watching Tigers, before picking Sam up and a meal with the inlaws.

Like I said, bitty day!!

I'll sign off with a comment on one of my books from yesterday. Reading the Jo Nesbo book last night I was shocked when he killed off one of the main characters who has been in all his books so far. I guess that is what makes him a good author, you never know what's over the page!
Love this.

nice rhythm and pattern to this

I like the form and order to this.

Ps my daughter went to see Walter Mitty, she enjoyed it and recommended it to us.

Well composed and actually looks quite pretty with the patterns.
January 5th, 2014
You certainly have form and textures with this one. Well spotted.
January 5th, 2014
Excellent and satisfying composition.

Fantastic composition and love all the tones in this, fav!

Good eye. Placing the sign in the bottom is a clever device to break up the pattern a bit.

I like the symmetry Sean and I'm not sure why but the inclusion of the no parking sign adds way more than it ought to.
January 5th, 2014
Excellent, the inclusion of the no parking sign is brilliant.

Had to laugh at the girl who is a friend, not a girlfriend, but dad and brother cannot join ;-) My mother always asked if there had been any cute girls wherever I'd been, I don't think I ever answered that question truthfully.

Interesting shot, Sean

I was given a ticket to yesterday's game. 7 goals, can't complain. Lallana is a special talent but I fear he will go this season. £40m?
January 5th, 2014
@gooner46 I fear you may be right Chris. He is a changed player this season, and would light up the best of teams. Me and the boys should make the Yeovil game. Hope you're ok, Happy New Year to you.

@primitiveprobe you lothario you!!
January 5th, 2014
Good eye -- like the repetition of shape as well as the cool textures. Nicely framed too!
January 5th, 2014
Definitely ticks all the boxes Sean. Had to smile at the girl friend who isn't a girlfriend! Had all that with my son recently. In our day you barely had to talk to someone and they were your boyfriend/girlfriend!!! Ps Love Jo Nesbo, which one are you reading?
January 5th, 2014
@paulaw Thanks Paula, I'm reading Police. Have read all up to now. I love scandicrime, Mankell is the master, Sjowall and Wahloo the mother and father of all. I'm off to see Nesbo in nottingham in April. Can't wait!!
January 5th, 2014
@seanoneill @paulaw For scandicrime you should really check out Camilla Lackberg
January 5th, 2014
@primitiveprobe Thanks for the tip Andreas, will have to check that out.
January 5th, 2014
@primitiveprobe I'll look her up. Hope she's been translated...
January 5th, 2014
@primitiveprobe she is! I just need to get the order they were written in now.
January 5th, 2014
Just checked on Amazon and they give the order there!!
January 5th, 2014
@seanoneill @paulaw you're welcome. My wife usually read them in Swedish as soon as they are published. She doesn't have time to wait for the Norwegian translation.

I like recording the artefacts that are all around us, domestic, industrial... Super mono recording, Sean.
January 5th, 2014
Love the symmetry in this

Cool shot - Andreas is right, the little sign at the bottom makes it!

Oh and a follow...

Interesting composition, love the repetition and b&w.

4 albums Sean, how did you manage that mate?
January 6th, 2014
@runningbk good to hear from you Mike, I hope all is well with the new job and with the family. It's a new feature for Ace members that gives you an extra album every time you renew your Ace Membership.
January 6th, 2014
All fine here Sean and family doing well. hope yours are too?

Having a bit of a 365 catch up, though still not inspired with the camera. Think I need a new toy to get me back in the loop.

Great B&W's in your album, no problem with your photo mojo :)
January 6th, 2014
That's cool, I like the pattern they make.
