New Brighton ~ 2 by seanoneill

New Brighton ~ 2

Thank you all for the great response to my shot of the lighthouse at New Brighton from last friday. I made a rare trip to the PP with it yesterday, a place where I am always happy to spend some time!

I will try and pop a colour version on the site later today, but here is a different view. Several more to come this week of this place. I have a very busy week (more so than the usual!) so am planning to give the camera a rest and use shots from New Brighton and the Grand National all week.

This is also amazing, so dramatic. Well done on the PP pic, its brilliant.

This is brilliant, Sean - the lightouse looks like it is in trouble. Have they thought of moving it?

Terrific shot, Sean. Love the B&W processing and your low pov...a cracker!

Wow, wonderful and very moody (? I rarely use that adjective … I hope it doesn't sound like a bad thing?)

Exceptional composition, so satisfyingly balanced - and balance is beauty (sculptor, Brancusi)

Great shot Sean.

like this one better.... like how you can see the steps on the lighthouse.... the drama of the sky against the shoreline works so well for me.

Very dramatic sky, great lighthouse capture

Brilliant Sean, love the processing and the composition. The line leading away from the lighthouse creates a wonderful tension in the comp. fav

Excellent composition, a wonderful b & w

An entirely different feeling to this one with the change of tide and a leading line that goes away from the lighthouse. Its a beauty, but my favorite is still the first one.

beautiufl

This disrupts my expectations of a scene like this. The causeway takes my eye out of the frame, left, while the lighthouse sharply drags it back … so rather than my eye freely being led to survey the scene I am kicked back and forth between left and right. It creates such tension! Love it, Sean!

PS Fav! of course.. my favourite Fav of the three b/w lighthouse shots.

Great processing! The gritty feel is perfect for this.

What a wonderful series of shots of the lighthouse, Sean. They really show how you can compose a scene in so many different ways. I think this one may be my favorite...but it's awfully hard to choose!
