Loughborough Station again by seanoneill

Loughborough Station again

A very busy day today.

We have been across to Lincoln to see Rebecca's Auntie Jane, wife of Bill Atkins, who sadly died earlier this week after a long illness.

Then a customer call on the way back, and now we are off to take 2 friends out for celebratory birthday curry.

I took my camera to Lincoln, but we decided to stay a while with Auntie Jane instead. The right decision I think, so today is a series of recent shots I'm afraid.

A shot from my night trip to Loughborough Station last week. I like the inclusion of the blurred people. Colour version in my second album.

This was created by processing in COlor Efex Pro adding the Detail Extractor filter, then converted to B+W in SFX Pro.

I really like both versions of this shot. If it were me I'd probably crop half the sky out.

I adore your b&w work. As soon as I see your stuff, I know it's you. I don't think I have a style that is recognizable, unless it is a selfie? Fav! Happy weekend, my friend! And pish, I am all about using shots whenever. I shoot when I want to and use what I want to. It's all about what works for you. No apologies. Love that you made Auntie Jane a priority.

Kind decision Sean....these black & white shots are lovely anyway...too good to waste! The addition of the figures is always a winner in my book.

Lovely people and long shadows, tough day, nice to get some art from it.

Fabulous perspective Sean has a feel of film noire.

fabulous B&W Sean, great capture

Perplexing vantage point -- seems too high to be from "on the train" heading in, or on foot crossing the tracks. Were you on a bridge overhead?

I'm sure Auntie Jane appreciated your decision to spend time with her . . .

@jyokota I was on the footbridge Junko.

Wonderful work

I like that detail extractor preset as well sometimes and you've used it to good effect here. I like the glow of the light on the building on the far left and the balance between the night sky and dark tunnel.

Great image and processing, Nik (software) is super! Sorry to learn of your family's loss, he sounds a super person. (I'm catching up).

Fav! Perfect composition.

This is fabulous Sean. You got some talent for b&w because they are not flat but have such depth and richness.
April 26th, 2014
Again, enjoy the toy-like feeling, and the B&W wins again.
April 26th, 2014
Very dramatic, especially with that strong black
April 27th, 2014
